Roger & Diane Crowther and their PI team started writing business at the Sheffield branch of Towergate back in 1998 administering a very successful book of quality Financial Lines PI business with very low loss ratios for 14 years.
Unfortunately Roger and Diane had to exit Towergate in July 2012 due to Diane’s deteriorating health but decided to start a new smaller commercial PI operation underpinning this new business with the same high quality service, philosophies and values that they had built the previous business on. It is with great sadness that having assisted with the start-up of the new business, Diane unexpectedly passed away due to worsening Cancer in January 2013 and she did not see the launch of The PI Desk Ltd.
Roger has subsequently brought some of the original PI team together with Amanda, Nicola, Nicola 2, Danny and Debra underpinning the PI Underwriting and Finance team. With many years experience dealing with Financial Lines PI and working with Roger for up to 20 years, they will be the hub of the administration department.
Now the business is well established Roger and the Team are building successful relationships with insurers, commercial broker intermediaries as well as bringing quality and competitive products to the wholesale and direct client market.
What next – Danny’s background was in FS business, but he has spent a few years away from Roger working in the construction market and building a reputation as a serious and knowledgeable construction underwriter/broker. Danny is respected by his peers for working hard with insurers and brokers to get the more difficult risks across the line.
However our main focus is still Mortgage Brokers, Finance Brokers and IFA’s but with Danny onboard we are building a solid construction book with commercial brokers around the country.
Our thoughts are with Diane and we will continue supporting our chosen charity Macmillan Cancer Support in various ways making donations to them for use on local projects in Diane’s memory.
